Some of you may not know that Linda and I will be leaving August 1st to serve God in Ghana, West Africa for 6 months. We will be running a guesthouse there owned by the SBC International Mission Board and helping missionaries and mission teams as they come and go into the field.
While in Africa our regular cell phones will not work but you can still contact us at our same email addresses. We will have a good internet connection and I still plan to do a little design work. So if you need design help with anything let me know.
We plan to get cell phones that will accept international calls once we get there. If you would like that phone # let me know and I can email it to you once we get them.

Back at work now after 6 weeks in Africa. It seems very strange but getting back into the swing of things. My first project back was the redesign of the Brooke Rental Center website. Much has changed with the technology of websites since this was launched in 2006, the site was originally built with a mix of flash and HTML. The new site included a custom WordPress Ecommerce system to allow them to take reservations on any of their products. As trips go I would have to rate this one as a 10 on a scale of 1-10. What better way to serve your fellow man here on earth than to help provide medical support to a country that is in great need of it. What blows me away most of all is the blessing received seem to always be more than the blessing given. Back in November I wrote about starting to design this new site and working on my first bamboo fly rod. Well here it is March and my first bamboo fly rod is finished along with the new website. The site was just launched last week. And while there is still some content to add and things to finalize we are open for business. All in all I think it turned out pretty good. Of course we will see things we want to change or add over time, but over all I think the site does what we want it to do and markets our products in a professional way. Read the rest of this entry »
