As a web developer, his talents came extremely in handy – he was able to provide web-friendly graphics (a huge time-saver), sliced in the right manner to be CSS and web-standards compliant.
Nick Armstrong – WTF!? Marketing
Sometimes the nimble
company is the hard one to catch.
SIMPLE. EFFECTIVE. CREATIVE.
Another Color, Inc. is a full service visual communications firm. We have been working with clients to create visually exciting design solutions for a wide range of marketing projects for over 30 years. Experience, insight, and a proven process allow us to develop and produce print and online solutions that work.
The word “teamwork” best describes the process ACI brings to a communication project. Our constant goal is to communicate with clarity, precision, and visual appeal while giving each client complete and personal attention so that every project, whether large or small, is treated with equal importance, completed on time, and within budget. The key to this goal is developing a coherent strategy by tapping into the market intelligence of the client, defining the audience, and mapping the competitive landscape to select the right medium to reach the audience in an efficient and cost effective way.
When we start a project we strive to develop a visual image as an interactive process, becoming your creative partner. ACI monitors costs, schedules, and production with the ultimate goal of enhancing and promoting bottom line results. That means complete project service – concept to conclusion. And that leverages great design into success for you.
History
In 1975, three graphic designers came together to establish Another Color. One Black… one White… one Asian… we thought the name was perfect. We took the leap as entrepreneurs with $600, some used furniture and drawing tables, the support of spouses and girlfriends, and a lot of energy and enthusiasm. We found an office above a one-man ad agency in a Georgetown townhouse. We became the ad agency’s in-house art studio and had our first client.
The first few years were filled with loads of hard work, low (or no) pay, tons of laughs, and great times. Over the years partners have left for various reasons, but ACI continued to grow as a successful design firm serving large and small businesses, government agencies, and associations in the Washington, D.C. area. In 1996, Sam Haltom, sole original owner of ACI, decided to relocate his family to Steamboat Springs, CO. So ACI moved to the mountains of Colorado.
ACI continued to serve clients in the Washington metro area and also seek business in Steamboat Springs. Over the years we have continued to provide quality design services to a number of businesses nationwide. ACI recently relocated again to Salida, CO while at the same time expanding services to include website design and development with the help of Matt Haltom. We are just as committed today to providing innovative and unique design solutions that communicate as we were when ACI began.

Matt Haltom
Web Designer/Developer
Matt has natural artistic talent that was evident in elementary school. He started college intending to major in Graphic Design but took a detour to compete in snowboarding half-pipe and earn an Associates Degree in Ski Area Operations from Colorado Mountain College. Matt operated a Snowcat at Breckenridge Ski Resort for a short time but decided being a ski bum was not the life for him. He went back to school at Westwood College and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Web Design & Multimedia.
While at Westwood, he freelanced design and helped out with projects at Another Color. Matt has been applying everything he has learned in a variety of projects for both web and print clients. After graduating, Matt landed a full-time website design position with Lijit in Boulder, CO. In his free time, he consults with Another Color, plays with his dog, Vida, and goes snowboarding. He is also learning Portuguese.

Ralph
Consultant
Ralph is the ACI dog. He has been with us for almost 12 years now. He is a Chocolate Lab/Corgi mix with an attitude. He pretty much runs the place but is full of love and never fails to get a smile out of us. Even though he has started to slow down because of age, he still insists on going for a walk every day.
